High atop the frostbitten Spinecrest Mountains lies the ancient fortress of Icespire Hold—once a warlord’s seat of conquest—now in the chilling grasp of Cryovain, a white dragon. This mighty beast claimed the stronghold after annihilating its previous defenders and now rules the lands with ruthless aerial assaults. In the valley below, the village of Frostmere endures Cryovain’s relentless fury. Overnight, livestock vanishes, trading caravans are shattered, and homes crumble under the dragon’s icy breath. Desperate to stave off total annihilation, Frostmere’s mayor, Lord Reginald Falkthorne III, seeks help from intrepid adventurers by offering promises of wealth and glory. However, behind his urgent call lies a secret: Falkthorne, impatient and self-serving, had already sent another group of mercenaries days earlier to combat the threat. As the heroes arrive in Frostmere, they find a town gripped with fear but also rife with whispers of Cryovain’s past and the dangers that await those who seek to challenge him. The journey to Icespire Hold will not be easy, for the mountain paths are treacherous, and dark forces lurk along the way.
